Over the years, The Pines Resort has been taken part in countless weddings. Some traditional, others non-traditional, but each real wedding is as unique and beautiful as the couple tying the knot.
This summer, our lovely Wedding Coordinator, Jessica Trettin, had the pleasure of planning a Vintage Book-Themed real wedding with Fiona & Sean Riedel.
In addition to being a pleasure to work with, we quickly learned how selfless the couple is.
Beginning July 13th, nearly one month prior to Fiona & Sean tying the knot, the Ferguson Fire started in South Fork Merced River drainage on Sierra National Forest. During the weeks following, the fire grew and ultimately claimed the lives of firefighters Brian Hughes and Braden Varney.
With these two brave men and their families in mind, Fiona & Sean decided to donate to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation –a foundation offering financial and emotional support to families of firefighters who’ve been injured or killed in the line of duty. So, in lieu of favors, donations were made in the names of each of their guests.
Fiona & Sean’s Real Wedding at The Pines Resort
Veering from the traditional wedding cake, the couple opted for a Churro Cart from Rubias Churro Parties.
Serving fair style specialty churros, Rubias Churro Parties also offers hot dogs, ice cream, coffee fruit cups, and elotes.
An outdoor reception at the Pines Resort
Unique in every way. The couple opted for vintage books and a floral centerpiece as their table decor.
These simple, yet beautiful tablescapes didn’t go unused. Here guests dined on Ducey’s dinner salads w/ house-made balsamic dressing before indulging in their choice of chicken breast w/ creamy mushroom sauce or 6 oz. filet mignon w/ demi sauce, served with herb-roasted red potatoes & seasonal baby vegetables.
Roses, hydrangeas, and chrysanthemum added a classic touch to the beautiful vintage book-themed ceremony and reception.
A wooden wedding arch adorned with florals and foliage complimented this unique, lakeside wedding perfectly.
What’s better than a money dance? Placing bets on the baby’s gender!
Two months prior to the August 11th wedding, the lovely couple found out they are expecting a baby! So, rather than partake in the traditional money dance, they asked their guests to place bets on the baby’s gender.
The DJ then turned his uplights on which revealed PINK… for a girl!
This was a real wedding to remember
