National Park Week kicks off Saturday, April 20, 2019, making Easter weekend the perfect time to visit Yosemite!
The Best Ways to Celebrate National Park Week In Yosemite
Although National Park Week takes place Saturday, April 20th through Sunday, April 28th, free admission is only applicable during the first day of National Park Week. But, one day of free admission is a great way to get a taste of Spring within Yosemite National Park.
Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Rail
“All aboard!”
Located just outside of Yosemite National Park, the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Rail has opened for the season!
While everyone loves this fun-filled excursion, it’s especially fun for small kids. Bring the family out for National Park Week and enjoy train rides, gold panning, and embrace history in the on-site rail museum.
Visit Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad for ticket information.
Waterfalls are abundant
Yosemite Falls
One of the most popular waterfalls in Yosemite, Yosemite Falls is a beautiful 2,425 ft waterfall that can be seen from several locations within Yosemite Valley.
Hike the one-mile loop trail that leads to the base of the fall, or take an all-day hike to the very top of Yosemite Falls– the choice is yours. Either way, you will witness one of the most beautiful waterfalls there is to see.
Bridalveil Fall
While it is not one of the largest waterfalls, it is one of the most beautiful ones there is to see. And, the photos you can take while here are breathtakingly beautiful.
A few other waterfalls to visit while in Yosemite during National Park Week:
- Vernal Fall (317 ft.)
- Nevada Fall (594 ft.)
- Horsetail Fall (1,000 ft. — this waterfall is located on the east side of El Capitan)
Of course, there is SO much more to Yosemite than just the waterfalls. The park holds a lot of history that is worth learning and exploring.
