Mid-February 2022 National Park Services announced that, starting on May 20 through September 30, 2022 every visitor who is entering Yosemite National Park between 6am and 4pm will be required to have a reservation.
NPS believes that limiting the number of visitors in the Park will help manage congestions and provide the visitors with a better experience and access to all attractions and infrastructure.
How to Get the Reservation?
70% of all reservations will go on sale on March 23 at 8am. Visitors can go to Recreation.gov to reserve their tickets. The rest of the availability will be released seven days before the arrival date. Reservations for Yosemite sell out almost immediately. It is encouaraged that visitors have their account set up in advance and be ready promptly at 8am. Once confirmed, the reservations are valid for the 3 consecutive days, following the arrival date. The name on the ticket must match the name of the driver, who will be asked to present their ID at the entrance.
What’s New in 2022 Reservation System?
- Reservations are only required for the peak-time visits between 6am and 4pm.
