Top 10 Most Instagrammable Spots In Bass Lake
By Cynthia Shackleton
Instagram loves Central California. Search #yosemite, and you’ll find more than 3 million posts on Instagram alone. So it’s no surprise that you’ll want to have your smartphone ready when you stay in Bass Lake, just a few miles south of the south entrance to Yosemite National Park.
Here are the top 10 things to document on Instagram while staying in Bass Lake, California.
1. On the Docks
The docks along Bass Lake are a picture-perfect opportunity. Snap your selfie sitting on the docks of the lake and share it with your friends and followers. Please respect private docks and avoid trespassing.
2. In the Water
You can wade in waist-deep or shoot your shot on a wakeboard. Make sure to capture a shot of the rippling waves of Bass Lake for your Instagram account. The Yosemite area is made for pictures, and you’ll want a reminder of the moments you spent in these blue waters.
3. On a Boat
Instagram is the perfect place to post your on-the-water adventures, whether it be kayak, canoe, or party boat. Don’t have a boat? No worries – Bass Lake offers lots of boat rentals. Just don’t forget your phone and keen eye for photo composition.
4. On the Trail
Bass Lake is a paradise for trail runners, bikers and hikers looking to get away from it all. You’ll want to stop and take some selfies and some scenery pics. Document your long run or day hike with a pic of your amazing surroundings. Better yet, show off the natural landscape with California’s native plants and animals – even better if you can name the California cholla, poppies, and blue-eyed grass in the caption.
5. On Land
The sky and the water dominate much of the landscape at Bass Lake, of course, and it’s easy to have your feet planted on the ground with your head in the sky. At least in an Instagram pic.
6. Sierra National Forest
Lake Bass offers more than just beautiful beaches. A big Bass Lake flex is a post from one of the chalets or suites at The Pines Resort. You can capture the sunset or sweet shot of the surrounding Sierra National Forest for posterity … and the Gram.
7. On Willow Creek and Angel Falls
One of the most popular trails at Bass Lake follows Willow Creek to Angel Falls. It’s the kind of natural beauty you should capture for your page, so you can come back time and time again, even if it’s just on social media.
8. At Ducey’s on the Lake
Bass Lake and the Pines Resort are known for their signature restaurant, Ducey’s on the Lake. Warmth and charm, as well as the authentic mountain lodge ambiance make it a perfect backdrop for your Intagram perfect shot.
9. On the Shoreline
You may be miles from the Pacific Ocean, but you’ll find plenty of beaches at Bass Lake, including a public beach at The Pines Resort. Show off your lakeside vacay by posing on the shoreline. You don’t have to go far, but you won’t regret dipping your toes in and capturing the moment to show to your followers
10. At the Finish Line
