The Pines Resort continues to evolve both, as a business and as a vacation destination. Our goal is always to create a memorable and relaxing experience for our dear patrons. As a part of this goal, we have recently added a new role in our guest services department – a concierge.
Now, that you selected The Pines Resort as your vacation or weekend destination, you probably are wondering what is there to do? What do we need to rent a boat? Can we swim in the lake? Can our dog go hiking with us? How do we get to Yosemite? How are we going to entertain the kids? etc. Concierge services can come to the rescue!
Concierge
Just as per definition “concierge” means a caretaker. This role is here to take care of our guests. In addition to providing local information, as well as helping book any activities during their stay, concierge can also build a detail itinerary. She will be happy to answer questions regarding to the Resort and will also host guest activities on the property.
The Pines Concierge is here to ensure that our patrons’ journey is seamless and enjoyable from the planning stages, up until they check out.
As soon as she started a month ago, Bonni quickly became the “face of the hotel”. She enjoys getting to know our guests. She maintains relationships with our visitors and establishes new connections with guests, community, and local activity partners.
Meet Bonni Montevecchi who will be will be stepping into this role.
Bonni loves Bass Lake, and since she grew up in the Central Valley, she was able to visit frequenly. Bonni is a former TV news reporter. She thrives on finding answers to all questions. In the past three years, she was working inside Yosemite National Park and she loves sharing her knowledge and love for the area with visitors.

Q: What does the Concierge do at The Pines?
A: It is an honor and privilege to be the first full-time Concierge at The Pines Resort. My goal is to help guests with their inquiries, and I am their first point of contact. My knowledge and experience with the property as well as the surrounding area, including my former home of Yosemite National Park, will allow me to better cater to guests’ unique needs.
I will be happy to book reservations for dining, activities, and events. I love to welcome folks as they check in and learn more about their expectations.
Q: Where can our guests find you?
A: My desk is in the Lobby of the Pines Registration area. I often meet with guests in the Cedar Room, across from the Front Desk. On weekends from 6-8 pm, you can find me in the Downstairs Lobby at Ducey’s Restaurant. You can also reach out to me via email: concierge@basslake.com.
Q: What events are we hosting this time of the year and what’s coming soon?
A: Currently we host s ‘mores by the Lake on most Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
We are also partnering with the Oakhurst bicycle company, Pedal Forward hosting a mountain bike workshop in the Pines Resort Registration Parking Lot on Saturday, September 24th and Sunday, September 25th and.
Of course, you won’t want to miss the 6th Bass Lake Halloween Carnival with Pines Village Craft Fair will be back on the last weekend in October!
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: Hiking is my passion and I am an explorer at heart! Actually, my last name means “Old Mountain” in Italian and my heart sings when I am in the hills.
There are so many great hiking trails in the Bass Lake Area. I love to travel and enjoy chatting with guests from all over the world. I have written a book and a food and entertainment column and co-hosted a live travel talk show. I like trying out new recipes and foods from all over the world.
Q: What makes Bass Lake unique as far as activities?
A: As the only lakeside resort in the Yosemite Area, Bass Lake has a large variety of different types of boating and water activities. From paddle boarding to pontoon boats, and everything in between. We are close to 4 x 4 jeep adventures and a historic steam engine railroad. We can book excursions on both of those fun activities at the Concierge Desk.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your job?
A: I love the family feel of our Resort and helping guests find new and enjoyable activities, as well as teaching them some of the local history. The staff at The Pines is the best and so welcoming and helpful.
Q: Most frequently asked question?
A: People want to know “Besides the Lake, what else is there to do around here?”
Q: What’s the biggest challenge in your position?
A: The biggest challenge is wanting to implement every idea at one time! So many ideas! Not enough time!
Q: Money aside, what would be the one attraction or activity that you would like to see at Bass Lake?
AL What a great question! I would love to see a boat transport and tour service to take guests to various locations on the Lake, host sunset cruises and tours all year long. I just love this Lake!
