Nothing quite beats a day at Bass Lake. You get to hang out in the sun, head out on the boat, get in some swimming, or really anything else you can think of. Before you head to the lake though, you want to make sure that you’re fully planned and prepared, including picking out the right spot.

Fun Items
While there are plenty of people who would be satisfied just sitting by the lake on a nice day, there are plenty of others that will want to be entertained. Make sure that you bring some fun activities for both the shore and the water. Bringing something you can toss around like a frisbee or football is a great way to stay occupied, or you can take it to the next level and play some paddle ball or volleyball.
As for the water, you can bring noodles and innertubes to float on so you’re not spending too much energy swimming around. A lot of people also love to listen to music either on the dock or on the boat, so bring some Bluetooth speakers and make sure that your devices have songs already downloaded since the service might not be great!
Water Safety
Even if you plan on spending most of your time near shore instead of out in the open water on a boat, it’s a good idea to bring plenty of water safety items. This includes floaties and, of course, life jackets. If you do plan on taking the boat out, make sure that everything is operating correctly and that you have a communication device in case of emergency.
Sun Protection
Staying in the sun all day is fun, but it can also be very hazardous to your health. To avoid sunburn, make sure that you’re bringing plenty of sunscreen with high UV protection. Sunglasses are also a great idea for spending all day on the beach, especially as the sun’s rays reflect off of the water. Those who aren’t actively in the water can also get enhanced protection from the sun by wearing a light long-sleeved shirt. Don’t forget an umbrella if you’re lying on a towel, either!
Food and Water
Naturally, a long day at the lake is going to leave people incredibly hungry and thirsty. After spending all that time in the water, make sure you’re drinking enough water, as well. Dehydration can happen quickly, especially on a hot day. Swimming also burns a lot of calories in a hurry, so if you think you’re overpacking in the food department, don’t worry, it will all be eaten! Stuff the cooler with as much food, water, and ice as you can and you’ll be good to go all day!
