Frequently asked questions

Wondering how the workshop works? Confused about how to sign up?

How to get there? If you are flying in from outside of California, the nearest airport is Fresno International Airport. The most convenient way is to rent a car at the airport and then take Highway 41 towards Yosemite. It's a straightforward route, and the drive typically takes a little over an hour to reach Bass Lake.

Is there snow in March? The weather in March around our area can be quite unpredictable. We've experienced years with summer-like weather, while others have seen significant snowfall with up to 2 feet of snow. Typically, towards the end of March, the weather tends to be milder. Our resort is situated at an elevation of 3,300 feet, so even if there is some snow, it's usually not substantial, and the roads are regularly plowed to ensure safe access. While there might be plenty of snow at higher elevations in the mountains, rest assured that you can make it to our resort safely. Plus, we'll take care of your transportation to Yosemite, ensuring a worry-free journey for you.

Do I have to share the Cabin with anyone? Our room occupancy options are designed to offer you the best rates for your stay. If you don't have a companion to attend with for double occupancy, don't worry! When you apply, please express your interest in sharing a room, and we will make every effort to match you with another participant who is also looking for a roommate. This option is available for our chalets, which feature two beds per room.

For our suites, please note that there is only one king bed per room. If you are registering with someone you'd like to share a room with, you can choose the suite option and stay together. We're here to ensure your comfort and accommodate your preferences as best as we can.

What kind of food will you offer? Our food offerings are carefully curated to provide a delightful culinary experience during your stay. Our chef, in collaboration with the instructor, will handpick the menu to ensure a balance of options and variety. We aim to keep the dishes simple yet appealing to a wide range of tastes.

If you have specific dietary requirements or need special accommodations, please make sure to note these in the comments when you make your reservation. We are committed to accommodating your dietary needs to make your dining experience as enjoyable as possible. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we look forward to catering to your preferences.

What is the cancellation policy? We realize, that life can be unpredictable. However, please note that our we do not allow cancellations for this retreat. The planning and pricing of this event are based on the committed participation of attendees, and we are unable to accept any cancellations.

We do, however, accommodate changes in participation by allowing replacements. If you need to make any changes to your reservation, there is a flat fee for you of $500 for any alterations made after the initial reservation by the party requesting the changes. The replacement attendee will be responsible for the full fee. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to welcoming you or your chosen replacement to the retreat.

Are there any additional fees? The price for the retreat is comprehensive and covers all essential aspects, including lodging, dining, the workshop, as well as associated taxes and instructor fees. However, any additional expenses such as incidentals, alcohol, participation in local activities like boating or ice skating, store purchases, or snacks will need to be managed individually. Please be prepared to provide a credit card at check-in for these personal expenses. We're here to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, and our team will be happy to assist with any questions you may have about these additional costs.
